Segregated Witness 2x, better known as SegWit2X, was a proposal to scale the transaction capacity of the Bitcoin network.

In a nutshell, SegWit increases the number of transactions that match each block.

To do this, a bitcoin upgrade was sought in 2 ways:

The first, consisted of an alteration in the way some data was stored, by optimizing the Segregated Witness (SegWit) code.

The other would increase the block size of the network to 2MB.
